 Proposed Amendments to the Quinndale Community Council Constitution

Soccer 2006These proposed amendments will be presented and voted on at the General Meeting on Tuesday October 24th, 7:00 pm at Huntington Park Recreation Centre. Click below for the proposed amendments.

Proposed Amendments:

 

The following amendments will be proposed at a special General Meeting Called for Tuesday October 24th, 2006 at Huntington Park Recreation Centre.

 

 

Section II: Sub-section 6

READS

Executive term consists of one (1) year.

 

Proposed change:

Executive and elected officer(s) term of service consists of

one(1) year.

 

Section II Sub-section 8.

READS

Only one member of a family may hold a position on the Executive at a time (Effective October 1st, 1996)

 

Proposed change:

Only one member of a family may hold a position on the 

executive at one time.

Exception: An executive position is left vacant upon completion of the AGM elections, due to a lack of interest or resignation(s), by executive and or elected officers from the year prior. In this case: the executive may recruit and appoint a new executive member and they shall notify the membership. If the person(s) is a family member of one of the executives, the Executive and Elected Officers must approve by vote of this selection. (Secret ballot with 50%+1 majority). Each member will have one vote.

(SEE SECTION VIII. By-Laws i.4) re: two signing

officers cannot be related)

The Quinndale Community Council shall hold an Annual meeting of all members. Reports of Officers and Committee Chairpersons shall be made. All members shall be notified in writing by way of year end newsletter

 

Proposed Change:

The Quinndale Community Council shall hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of all members. Reports of Officers and Committee Chairpersons shall be made. All members shall be notified in writing by way of an end of the season newsletter.

 

Section III Sub-section 6

READS:

The official year for the Community Council will be October 1st to September 30th. The first meeting of the year will be in October. The annual meeting will be in the third week of October.

Section VII

 

      READS

Notice of any proposed amendment(s) of the Constitution must be in writing and given to the President, August 1st, and be passed by two-thirds (2/3) vote of those present at the annual meeting. The notice calling the annual meeting shall refer to any proposed amendments.

 

Proposed Change:

Notice of any proposed amendment(s) to the Constitution

must be in writing and given to the President, at least

fourteen (14) days prior to the advertised date of the

AGM, and be passed by two-thirds (2/3) vote of those

present at the annual meeting.
